From The Press Release
Highland Film Group has joined forces with Anchor Bay UK to introduce three genre titles to international buyers at the upcoming Marché du Film at Cannes. The slate of UK produced titles includes WORLD WAR DEAD, WE STILL KILL THE OLD WAY, and AGE OF KILL.
WORLD WAR DEAD stars Ray Panthaki (28 Days Later), Wendy Glenn (You’re Next) and Kacey Barnfield (Resident Evil) and is about a TV documentary team travelling to the Somme to uncover new mysteries in relation to World War I. However, what they unearth is far from a new story, but an army of the undead and a brand new war.
Revenge thriller WE STILL KILL THE OLD WAY, from director Sacha Bennett (Bonded By Blood), follows a group of London gangsters on a vigilante killing spree when one of their own ends up dead. The film stars Ian Ogilvy (Death Becomes Her), James Cosmo (Braveheart, “Game Of Thrones”), Nicky Henson (Syriana), Adele Silva and Dani Dyer (Vendetta).
Lastly, in AGE OF KILL, a disgraced black ops sniper has 6 hours to eliminate 6 targets in order to prevent the death of his kidnapped son. Starring Martin Kemp (The Krays), AGE OF KILL is produced by Jonathan Sothcott (Vendetta, Fall of the Essex Boys).
Anchor Bay’s Director of Acquisitions Rod Smith said “We couldn’t find a more perfect fit than the talented team at Highland Film Group, to represent our first three local productions. Their drive, passion and understanding of the market and our films make them a go-to destination for all international buyers, and we look forward to working with them.”
Highland’s Arianne Fraser, CEO and Delphine Perrier, President of International Sales jointly commented “We are so pleased to be working with Anchor Bay UK on these three standout genre films as both their films and the company encapsulate the same creative spirit we strive to represent.”
Highland’s current sales slate includes Kelvin Tong’s suspenseful new horror film EMAIL, Kevin Connolly’s THE WRIGHT GIRLS starring Jessica Alba, and SANCTUARY from director Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego; the latter two films are both produced by Charles Roven’s Atlas Independent.
