There was a lot to choose from on TV last night. Did Showtime’s “Penny Dreadful” get your attention? If so, here’s a look ahead to Episode 1.02, “Seance,” and lots more!

Timothy Dalton, Reeve Carney, Josh Hartnett, Harry Treadaway, Rory Kinnear, Billie Piper, and Eva Green star. Juan Antonio Bayona (The Orphanage, The Impossible) directed the first two episodes.

Vanessa (Green) and Sir Malcolm (Dalton) attend a party at the home of Egyptologist Sir Ferdinand Lyle and meet Dorian Gray (Carney). The party takes an ominous turn when medium Madame Kali hosts a séance. Meanwhile, Ethan (Hartnett) befriends Brona Croft (Piper), a young Irish immigrant.
