Grindhouse Releasing announced that Ruggero Deodato’s masterpiece will arrive July 1st on Blu-ray in an all-new deluxe edition three-disc release. The set includes two Blu-ray discs loaded with special features and a newly remastered soundtrack CD of the original score by Riz Ortolani.

Grindhouse Releasing’s Cannibal Holocaust Deluxe Edition Blu-ray is the ultimate home video presentation of this notorious classic named by Entertainment Weekly as “one of the most controversial films ever made.”

The three-disc set can be pre-ordered now exclusively at Diabolik DVD.

      Man, you’re not the only one. I fast forward the turtle scene whenever i watch this. I’d like to think that bothers pretty much everyone. Except for Ted Nugent. He probably touches himself. Dude’s fucking weird.

        Wasn’t there a DVD once that included options to watch the movie Cut, Fully Uncut, and Uncut with the animal deaths removed?

        Hoping this new edition includes those choices (the latter two, anyway).

          Yes, Grindhouse Releasing put out a 2-disc 25th Anniversary Collector’s Edition in 2005 that was limited to 11,111 copies. It contained an animal cruelty-free version which you could access from the main menu under playback options. But, strangely, there’s no mention of this version anywhere on the disc box, sleeve or liner notes. So there’s no way of knowing that this option exists until you put in the disc. Hopefully, as you said, this option will be available on this Blu-ray release, as that is the only version I’m willing to stomach.
