The Swedish writing/directing duo of Sonny Laguna and Tommy Wiklund have churned out a few feature films, including Blood Runs Cold and Wither, the latter of which has drawn favorable comparisons to The Evil Dead. Now they’re back with a third, and we have the first look for ya.
Headed to Cannes, which kicks off next week, We Are Monsters stars Hanna Oldenburg, Ralf Beck, Thorbjorn Andersson, and Niki Nordenskjold. You’ll find the plot crunch, poster art, and a few stills below.

Synopsis
Emma is a businesswoman coming from Australia to the U.S to sign a controversial oil contract. On her way to a press conference, she jumps into a taxi. Soon after, to her surprise, she is attacked and drugged by the taxi driver. She wakes up tied to a chair in a filthy cabin. Emma soon learns she’s the night’s amusement for a man named Jim and his loyal associates Pete and Shirley. She must now do everything she can to survive.
