AFM 2013: Sales Art for Darren Lynn Bousman's Abattoir Takes it One Room at a TimeThe sales trailer for the new film from Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II, III, IV; Repo! The Genetic Opera; The Devil’s Carnival) recently found its way online in a video for Full Sail University’s How to Get Noticed in Hollywood Today program and you can dig it right now!

It should be EXPLICITLY noted that this is just a proof on concept trailer and it contains no footage from the actual film itself. You can find it at the 32 minute mark of the video, but we recommend, especially if you’re a new filmmaker, that you watch the whole chat with Bousman as it’s as interesting as they come. The man knows his shit! Check it out!

Bousman is set to direct Abattoir, which will be produced by Radical Studios. Bousman will work from a screenplay by Christopher Monfette, who adapts the Radical Publishing comic book miniseries created by Bousman.

Abattoir centers on a Boston real-estate reporter who unearths an urban legend about someone who has spent decades buying homes where horrific tragedies have occurred and piecing them together, ultimately leading to the enigmatic Jebediah Crone and the answer to the terrifying question: How do you build a haunted house?

Jesse Berger will produce via Radical Studios’ new genre banner Dark Web alongside visual effect house Hydraulx (Avengers, Avatar) and production company Les enfants Terribles. The producing team includes Radical Studios president Barry Levine (Oblivion), Hydraulx CEO Greg Strause (Skyline), Brent Bell (The Devil Inside), and Chris Contogouris (Spring Breakers), who will executive produce, with Brent Johnson and Radical Studios partner Billy Hines co-producing.

The concept of Abattoir has been in my nightmares since I was a kid. I couldn’t be in better hands than with Radical Studios, who has taken this idea and helped me develop it into a truly terrifying concept, a new spin on the haunted house sub-genre,” Bousman said.

“The wonderful thing about Darren’s vision for Abattoir is that it combines elements of classic, old-school horror with a very modern, high-concept idea and a terrifying mythology,” Berger said.
