AFM: Thing and Buick Updates!

From a Buick 8 update! Our man Andrew Kasch just checked in from AFM, which started up today, with some good news about two projects that we’re very much looking forward to.

The first is From a Buick 8, which you see some early art for on your right. Kasch talked to producer Etchie Stroh of Moonstone Entertainment, who said the script for Buick is in the hands of director Tobe Hooper as we speak, who’s giving it a once-over to tighten it up. It will go to Stephen King, who wrote the novel the film is based on, before cameras roll for final approval.

The Thing on the Doorstep update! They’re hoping to have everything ready to go for a shoot date in early 2008 and though no casting’s been done, they will be filming in Pennsylvania which only makes sense, as that’s where the book is set.

He also learned a bit more about The Thing on the Doorstep, the next Stuart Gordon film written by long-time collaborator Dennis Paoli, based on the H.P. Lovecraft story of the same name. Gordon and Paoli are fine-tuning the script now and also hope to have cameras rolling in the first half of 2008. Nice!

Some early art from Thing on the Doorstep is on your left (click to see it bigger); keep it here for updates on both projects as we get them!
