It's Pandemonium in this Preview of From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series Episode 1.07“From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series” is taking next week off, which I guess means last week’s episode was a sort of mid-season finale… and a good one it was! “Pandemonium” breaks out when it returns on April 29th with Episode 1.07, and here’s a preview.

“From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series” centers on bank robber Seth Gecko (D.J. Cotrona) and his violent, unpredictable brother, Richard “Richie” Gecko (Zane Holtz). The series deepens the tone of the original film, adds new characters and backstories, and expands the Mesoamerican mythology behind the creatures inside the club.

Along with Cotrona and Holtz, the international cast includes Jesse Garcia, Eiza González, Wilmer Valderrama, Adrianne Palicki, Jake Busey, Don Johnson, Madison Davenport, Lane Garrison, Robert Patrick, and Brandon Soo Hoo. The 10-episode, hour-long series is El Rey Network’s first scripted original and has already been renewed for a second season.

No synopsis for Episode 1.07, “Pandemonium,” has been released yet, but with that title – and considering where we left off this week – we’re pretty sure Eiza González is going to be front and center as queen vamp Santanico Pandemonium. If you don’t get El Rey Network from your cable provider, episodes are available on Amazon. I’d say it’s worth it for Don Johnson’s scenes alone.

For more info keep your eyes on the show’s Facebook page, the official El Rey Network website, El Rey Network on Facebook, and El Rey Network on Twitter.

Universal Acquires Riley Sager’s Final Girls for Film Adaptation

Published

on

The “final girl” has long been a staple of the horror film genre, and lately there have been several films with just about that very same title focusing on her and/or them. Well, guess what… there’s another one coming as Deadline is reporting that Universal Pictures has won a bidding battle to option rights for Final Girls, the bestselling novel from Riley Sager that hit shelves this past July.

The movie adaptation will be produced by Anonymous Content’s Nicole Clemens along with Sugar23’s Ashley Zalta and Michael Sugar as that stand-alone company continues to ramp up.

Sager’s book centers on Quincy Carpenter, who 10 years ago as a college student went on vacation to Pine Cottage with five friends and came back alone, the only survivor of a horror movie-scale massacre. In an instant, the press dubbed her a “Final Girl,” coined for the group of similar survivors.

We’ll have more for you on this as it comes.
