New Daylight Videos Highlight Terrors in the DarkAs we near the PC and PlayStation 4 April 29th release date for the new horror game from Zombie Studios & Atlus, entitled Daylight, the powers-that-be have released two new videos to fuel our nightmares. Check ’em out!

Only the bravest souls will find all the messages and clues scattered through Daylight‘s labyrinthine twists of derelict hospital corridors and other creepy environments, where procedurally generated levels ensure no two playthroughs will be the same.

Daylight is told in the first-person perspective and begins with players regaining consciousness in an abandoned hospital with only a cell phone to use as a source of light. The ominous atmosphere, powered by Unreal Engine 4, gives players the immediate feeling that they need to escape. But since each level is procedurally generated, no clues, haunted corridors, life-saving flares or lurking specter will ever be in the same place twice.

Daylight was written by industry veteran Jessica Chobot, who also provides the quavering, terrified voice of the protagonist.

For the PlayStation 4 system, Daylight will take full advantage of the console’s features, including:

  • Using every ounce of processing power: Daylight uses Unreal Engine 4 to create an atmospheric setting with some of the most immersive graphics to date.
  • Share gameplay online: Scare friends with the system’s new “share” feature to stream gameplay to friends.
  • Capturing the moment: Daylight uses the PS4 system’s integrated PlayStation Eye camera to take pictures of the exact moment that a scare happens. Keep the pictures of the reactions as a novelty or bravely share them with friends on social networks.
  • RealD 3D Support: Daylight uses the latest 3D technology from RealD to expand its haunting atmosphere into the third dimension.

Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation – First Trailer and Artwork!

    Published

    on

As a fan of flicks like Mad Monster Party, I was surprisingly pleased with the last two Hotel Transylvania affairs. For my money you can put the classic monsters in just about anything, and I’ll watch it happily, and these animated features feel like a natural progression of the 1967 Rankin and Bass classic. Which is why I’m looking forward to Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, and if you are too, check out the film’s new trailer and poster.

Directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, who co-wrote the film with Michael McCullers, Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation features the voices of Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James, Fran Drescher, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon, David Spade, Keegan-Michael Key, and Mel Brooks.

Look for it in theaters on July 13, 2018.

    Synopsis:
In Sony Pictures Animation’s Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, join our favorite monster family as they embark on a vacation on a luxury monster cruise ship so Drac can take a summer vacation from providing everyone else’s vacation at the hotel. It’s smooth sailing for Drac’s Pack as the monsters indulge in all of the shipboard fun the cruise has to offer, from monster volleyball to exotic excursions, and catching up on their moon tans.

But the dream vacation turns into a nightmare when Mavis realizes Drac has fallen for the mysterious captain of the ship, Ericka, who hides a dangerous secret that could destroy all of monsterkind.

Universal Acquires Riley Sager’s Final Girls for Film Adaptation

    Published

    on

The “final girl” has long been a staple of the horror film genre, and lately there have been several films with just about that very same title focusing on her and/or them. Well, guess what… there’s another one coming as Deadline is reporting that Universal Pictures has won a bidding battle to option rights for Final Girls, the bestselling novel from Riley Sager that hit shelves this past July.

The movie adaptation will be produced by Anonymous Content’s Nicole Clemens along with Sugar23’s Ashley Zalta and Michael Sugar as that stand-alone company continues to ramp up.

Sager’s book centers on Quincy Carpenter, who 10 years ago as a college student went on vacation to Pine Cottage with five friends and came back alone, the only survivor of a horror movie-scale massacre. In an instant, the press dubbed her a “Final Girl,” coined for the group of similar survivors.

We’ll have more for you on this as it comes.
