The premiere of “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series'” is turning into quite the event with Alamo Drafthouse and El Rey Network partnering to screen the episode at Alamo Drafthouse theaters across the country.
It’s happening in nine theaters, all timed to coincide with the show’s El Rey Network debut on Tuesday, March 11, at 9PM ET/8PM CT. Tim League, Alamo Drafthouse founder and CEO, will host a Q&A with Robert Rodriguez and the cast following the premiere and screenings.
The Q&A will be live at the Austin theater, while simultaneously streaming to all eight of the other Alamo theaters and on the El Rey Network YouTube channel, a unique experience for fans nationwide, whether watching from home or on the big screen. The 30-minute Q&A will begin at 10PM ET/9PM CT.
Created and executive produced by the cable network’s founder and chairman, filmmaker Robert Rodriguez, and based on the cult classic film of the same name, the 10-episode, hour-long series is El Rey Network’s first scripted original.
“Robert’s been such an inspiration to so many young filmmakers to make movies on their own terms,” says League. “I am proud to be able to support Robert as he now takes on television with his same indefatigable DIY spirit.”

“From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series” stars D.J. Cotrona, Zane Holtz, Jesse Garcia, Eiza González, Wilmer Valderrama, Adrianne Palicki, Jake Busey, Don Johnson, Madison Davenport, Lane Garrison, Robert Patrick, and Brandon Soo Hoo.
The series is centered around bank robber Seth Gecko (Cotrona) and his violent, unpredictable brother, Richard “Richie” Gecko (Holtz), who are wanted by the FBI and Texas Rangers Earl McGraw (Johnson) and Freddie Gonzalez (Garcia) after a bank heist leaves several people dead. While on the run to Mexico, Seth and Richie encounter former pastor Jacob Fuller (Patrick) and his family, whom they take hostage.
Using the family RV to cross the Border, chaos ensues when the group detours to a strip club that is populated by vampires. They are forced to fight until dawn in order to get out alive. The series deepens the tone and expands the storyline of the film, adds new characters and backstories, and explores the Mesoamerican mythology behind the creatures inside the club.
