She tangoed with Freddy Krueger in Wes Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, and now Tuesday Knight is back with the all-new short film Opening Night from director / writer / producer Dakota A. Thomas. Even cooler? You can watch it right here, right now.
We are happy to premiere the short film in its entirety until 12:00 midnight tonight (February 21st)!
“I am not only a lifelong horror fan but admittedly a horrorholic,” says director Dakota A. Thomas. “It was built into me from birth. I love telling the story that my first memory in life is watching ‘Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday’ in theaters at the age of three.”
“My mom is to thank for being the sole reason that I’ve set my sights on such a unique career path. I grew up watching the classic horror films with her on Friday nights after school. My fondest memories as a child is going to the local video store and browsing in the horror section. These memories are very much reflected in Opening Night. I love paying homage to the movies I grew up watching. It’s a tip of the hat.”
Thomas continues, “I’ve always been a big fan of Tuesday’s work. I remember buying my VHS copy of ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master’ and falling in love with Tuesday’s character and her soulful voice. I’ve followed her career since then, and thanks to the internet we’ve become virtual friends. It’s a very surreal experience that I now, all these years later, have had the honor of working with her. She is a remarkable person. It’s very humbling for me that she even considered the role and took on this project. I can’t wait to share this with all the fans who have been demanding for her to return to horror. Opening Night was a true labor of love that took us six months from beginning to end to complete. I could not have done it without the amazing support system of everyone involved in the film. They are the ones that really deserve the recognition.”
According to Thomas the goal here is to be able to turn this little short into a feature film in the near future. Check it out below, and let us know what you guys think!
