See Godzilla Revealed in this New Poster!A new poster has arrived for Godzilla that, while he does have his back turned to us (shy devil!), gives us our best look at the beast yet. Check it out, and help us figure out how to fill our days until May!

The artwork comes courtesy of Yahoo! Movies, who point out that with regard to Godzilla’s size, “he towers … over his target city of San Francisco, easily twice as big as its tallest building, the Transamerica Pyramid — and, as that skyscraper stands at 48 floors, that makes Godzilla himself about 100 stories high.” We’re not entirely sure that’s accurate, but if so, wow!

Gareth Edwards (Monsters) directs an all-star cast that includes Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, Aaron Johnson, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn, Ken Watanabe, Richard T. Jones, Sally Hawkins, Akira Takarada, Victor Rasuk, Yuki Morita, C.J. Adams, and Gary Chalk.

In theaters May 16, 2014, an epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.

Making his first appearance in 1954 (Gojira), Godzilla is a giant monster that lives in the sea that comes from the ocean to feed on mankind.

If this is true to scale new Zilla will be the biggest ,baddest ever. Does anybody know anything about other Kaiju in this?I heard Zilla will be sharing the screen with at least one other . I would f’n love to see a redo of DESTROY ALL MONSTERS if done right that would be epic!

It’s a moody gripping poster following a moody griping trailer. Like Sharkboy says, there’s no turning back now. There is, however, the plan B of gathering pitchforks and torches and hunting Gareth Edwards down if it sucks. There’s no in-between anymore.

I think they’re doing something along the same lines as was done with the promo poster for the 1976 King Kong (link to the image located below). If you look at that, it’s got Kong straddling BOTH towers of the WTC while holding the ruin of what appears to be a airliner in one hand. Obviously, since Kong wasn’t that big in the film, creative license was being taken to increase the impact of the concept. I’m guessing the same is true here.

You say Godzilla. I say “where?”

He won’t be THAT tall, but really, Godzilla grows with architecture. He should be at least as big as the average skyscraper. He’s always got to be part of the skyline, but not big enough to be the skyline. CANNOT FUCKING WAIT!

Damn, these are some fine quality posters. It’s too late to turn back now – this movie HAS to be good.

    2 months, 3 weeks, and 3 days until G-Day.

Cannot fucking wait for this movie!

  • Screamz

Can’t wait for this. Everyday this movie seems to get better and better looking. Just don’t make Godzilla too tall, it’ll make him more comical than menacing…

I’m hoping he’s not that big either. Although, the trailer does show a hole through a regular building, here’s to hoping that is closer to his actual size.
