Everyone always gets excited when a big movie license is secured by someone who makes cool stuff… but usually when a cult classic like Attack of the Killer Tomatoes comes up, they couldn’t care less. Well, we care, damn it!
From the Press Release
Act III Licensing and Killer Tomato Entertainment, Inc. (KTE, Inc.), have inked a multi-year licensing agreement signaling a brand re-launch for one of the industry’s most enduring titles.
“Killer Tomatoes®” made its mark by capitalizing on a title that Art Week called “one of the ten best of all time.” The micro-budgeted 1978 original was a midnight show mainstay and a pioneer in the eclectic “World’s Worst Films” market.
The comedy-horror spectacle spawned three sequels, Return of the Killer Tomatoes! (George Clooney), Killer Tomatoes Strike Back! and Killer Tomatoes Eat France! (John Astin), as well as the Fox Children’s Network” Attack of the Killer Tomatoes” Saturday morning animated series.
Act III Licensing is excited to partner with KTE, Inc., the family-owned company headed by the same creative crew that produced the original and has owned and managed the Killer Tomatoes property ever since.
“The fan base is still strong, and the art from the films is memorable, funny, and unique,” said Julie Dyer, Partner at Act III Licensing. “We have a strong history working with classic properties, and we’re looking forward to seeing the next iteration of this film and television franchise.”
Recently launched Killertomatoes.com, related Twitter feeds, and Facebook fan pages are giving fans new outlets for content. ”We are thrilled to have the Act III team as a partner as Killer Tomatoes launches its third generation of calamity,” says Steve Peace, CEO of KTE, Inc.
Killer Tomatoes® is now available for licensing in all categories including apparel and headwear, accessories, posters, gaming, wall art, food products, and apps.
