We horror fans are constantly begging for original movies. Enough with the remakes, the sequels and the re-hashed ideas. Give us something truly original, and we’ll be happy. Ask and ye shall receive, fiends!

Screen Daily reports that The Haunting in Connecticut director Peter Cornwell has signed on to direct Minion, a martial arts horror film. Yes, a martial arts horror film.

Eric Gable and Ben Bostik wrote the screenplay, which tells the story of a farewell party for a martial arts coach that descends into horror. When a party game reveals the man is possessed, the guests must battle supernatural forces as they undertake a twisted ritual of reverse exorcism.

Gudrun Giddings and Christian Arnold-Beutel are teaming up to produce the film.
