The Boston Strangler has been the subject of a handful of films over the years, so named because of the way he strangled 13 female victims in the early-mid 1960s. Actually, it’s never been proven for certain that it was only one man that was responsible for the murders…
…but that’s neither here nor there. What we’re here to talk about is the latest film based on the string of stranglings, which has its sights set on a director.
As reported by Variety, Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo) is currently in talks to bring Warner Bros.’ Boston Strangler, which is set to star Casey Affleck (pictured), to the big screen. Affleck will also executive produce the crime drama, with Kevin McCormick producing through his Langley Park banner.
The Chuck MacLean-penned film will follow a detective trying to uncover the identity of the Boston Strangler. Sources have compared the script to films like Seven and Zodiac.
