Seriously... WTF Happened to Movie Posters? There was a time when all a movie had to have going for it was a cool poster and I’d see it. I distinctly remember walking through the aisles of Parkway or Royal Video… diggin’ on their horror sections and feeling like I had just struck gold. Then somewhere along the line things got all fucked up.

The guys over at Good Bad Flicks realize this too, and they’ve put together one of the single best videos we’ve seen having to do with the downfall of great poster art. A mantle that his since been picked up by fans who consistently pump out way better movie posters than today’s studios could ever even conceive of. To them we say, “Bravo!”

In addition to their video, we’ve posted ten of our favorite bits of art from yesteryear. The movies weren’t always great, but damn it, these fine examples of horror eye candy had us hooked.

Check out the goods below, and tell us what some of YOUR favorites were in our comments section.

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

  1. Night of the Creeps might be my all-time favorite, although some of the class Full Moon covers were fantastic, too. For more recent artwork, Ty West still seems to get a great poster with every release, namely House of the Devil and The Innkeepers.
