Honestly Robocop is perfect material for a remake. Before I get “you’re crazy” comments; think about it. We live in a world with robots, drones, surveillance, more and more militarized police forces, and even the very basic of our relationship with technology.

Of any remake that is coming out, ‘Robocop’ is insanely relevant to the modern society. The core idea is something many can relate to or understand living in today’s society.

How much they chose to implement is obviously unknown as the film has yet to be released so no one can know if it’s good or not.

From everything that I’ve seen thus far, I highly doubt that there’s a core political or social message at the center of this remake. It looks like pure visual wankery with no substance whatsoever.

Does RoboCop even kill ONE human criminal?! So far all I’ve seen is him doing battle with robots. Such a disgrace to the character.

Has any remake so blatantly used all the memorable lines from the original in it’s press junket as bad as this? I know what they’re trying to do. They’re reminding me of how awesome Robocop is and hoping I’ll give them money. But anyone who gets giddy when someone says “your move, creep” will want absolutely nothing to do with a family friendly remake.
Whoever is in charge of promoting & advertising should be dunked it a toxic waste bath. I’d pay a dollar to see that.
