It’s been well over a year since we’ve had anything to report about Universal’s Ouija, based on the popular Hasbro board game. Finally the spirits are talking to us again. Read on for the first casting announcement!
“The Secret Life of the American Teenager” star Daren Kagasoff has just signed on for a role in the flick, reports Deadline. The young actor will play Trevor, a man who is skeptical about reaching out to the dead.
Written and directed by Stiles White and Juliet Snowden (Boogeyman, The Possession), the film follows a group of teens playing with a Ouija board, making contact with an evil spirit, and desperately trying to close the door they’ve opened before meeting their own fate.
Producing will be Jason Blum through his Blumhouse Prods. shingle, Michael Bay through his Platinum Dunes banner along with Platinum partners Andrew Form and Brad Fuller. Hasbro president-CEO Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir will also produce. Plot details are being kept under wraps, although indications are it will be in keeping with the high-concept, low-budget model Blum has used with success for the Paranormal Activity franchise.
