Exclusive First Stills from Day of the MummyJesse Baget’s Ruthless Pictures is already cookin’ on its next feature, Day of the Mummy, and we have the first and exclusive stills for you right here. Also included is one of the helmet cam they built to shoot the film POV style which looks kinda cool! Dig ’em!

From the Press Release
Mixing sex, gore and a good dose of ass-kicking action, Day of the Mummy revs a classic subject into high gear. Shot almost entirely in video game-style POV, the film follows bad boy archaeologist Jack Wells, who, in hopes of getting his hands on the famed diamond known as the Codix Stone, joins a group of archaeologists out to explore the newly discovered tomb of the cursed king Neferu.

When the bloodthirsty mummy of the king rises from the dead seeking human victims, Jack and his team are in for the most horrifying experience of their life.

Of the film Baget says, “I wanted to see something different done with a classic subject matter, and I think Day of the Mummy is it.” He adds, “I like to try and think up new ways to entertain an audience. It’s the best part of what I do.”

Director Johnny Tabor looks forward to making a film that “puts you right smack dab in the center of the excitement.” He wants to “take everything we love about the nostalgia of 80’s adventure flicks and weave it with today’s horror and then splash a coat of modern cinema on it.”

Co-writer Garry Charles is excited to be part of the project, saying, “It’s been a pleasure to breathe some life into a sub-genre of horror that is usually ignored in favor of vampires and zombies. Can’t wait to see what Jesse and the rest of the team will do with it.”
