Given the success of the Insidious films at the box office, it’s no wonder why a third one was confirmed a couple of weeks ago. The project is moving so fast we already have a release date. Read on for details.

Bloody Disgusting reports that FilmDistrict and Sony Pictures have locked in April 3, 2015, for the Leigh Whannell-penned Insidious Chapter 3. The third film will be bringing back Lin Shaye’s character as well as both ghost hunters Specs and Tucker (all three pictured below).

Jason Blum will produce the third Insidious film for Blumhouse Productions with Oren Peli (Paranormal Activity). Steven Schneider, Brian Kavanaugh Jones, Peter Schlessel, Lia Buman, and Xavier Marchand are executive producing. There’s no word yet on whether or not James Wan will be back to direct. Stay tuned.
