Original Oldboy Returns to Theaters in South KoreaThis year marks the ten-year anniversary of the original release of Park Chan-wook’s Oldboy, one of my personal favorite movies of all time. A true masterpiece in every sense of the word.

Oldboy gets the remake treatment on November 27th courtesy of Spike Lee, but those in South Korea will be able to experience the original back on the big screen one week prior.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, the original Oldboy has been remastered and will be released across South Korean theaters on November 21st. The film’s visuals have been revamped with color correction and elimination of scratches and dust. The editing and audios remain the same. “It’s very old as it was made during the analog age,” said the director. “I’ve wanted to make a digital version for a long time.

I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking I’d rather travel to South Korea and watch the original than sit down at my local theater and watch the remake!
