Syfy Resurrecting Beowulf for the Small ScreenThere are times to this very day when I wake up in a cold sweat due to my exposure to that horrid CGI telling of Beowulf that Robert Zemeckis crapped out several years ago. I blame that damned Austin Powers-like hide the salami scene. In any event…

According to Deadline, Syfy has put in development “Beowulf,” a drama series adaptation of the classic Old English epic poem that further examines the hero’s rise to power and his feud with the monster Grendel.

The project, produced by Omni, is being written by Matt Greenberg (1408), who will executive produce with Brian Hamilton, Michael Chechik, Andrew Cosby, and Paulo de Oliveira.

Well, it can’t be worse than that 2007 mess, can it? Don’t answer that.
