I miss claymation, but what I miss more is stop-motion being used in horror films. Why can’t we have little clay figures coming to life and murdering people again? Well, we could have had something similar to that with Born. It’s the story of a married couple who move to England. The husband is a claymation artist who uses the local area’s red clay to make his models. All would be jolly if those damn tiny sculptures wouldn’t keep coming to life…
Fangoria has an update for us this evening on the Clive Barker scripted and Guillermo del Toro produced Born. According to the mag the two actors (Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany) who were previously reported as committed to the project are now saying nothing was ever in stone. According to Connelly, “We’ve been circling around various different things at different points, and we’d love to work together, but we haven’t settled on anything yet.”
This does not mean the project is dead in the water, but it may be a while before it starts rolling again. Shame.
