We didn’t show you guys all the treats we had up our sleeves yesterday for Halloween. We saved one of the best for today… a live-action adaptation of the award-winning Dead Island gaming trailer.
In 2011, Techland captivated the video game world when it released what is widely considered the greatest video game trailer of all time for the relatively unknown at the time video game Dead Island (review here). The trailer was viewed over 2.5 million times in the first five days and received universal praise from gaming and mainstream media outlets.
Now, Machinima launches a shot-for-shot, live action adaptation of the beloved trailer. Featuring the same iconic music, the production team matched the emotion and action of the original down to the smallest detail.

Game Synopsis:
The island of Banoi is a lush, tropical paradise in the South Pacific where its flagship Royal Palms Resort serves as the ultimate getaway for vacationers with money to burn. However, all good things must soon come to an end – and the picturesque resort falls into madness, carnage, and chaos after a mysterious and contagious zombie outbreak claims its once peaceful atmosphere. Cut off from the rest of the world, only four individuals who strangely find themselves immune to zombification have the power to protect the remaining survivors from the horrors of the island, discover what’s really going on, and find a way to escape before their own fatal ends.
