Just in time for Halloween… it seems there has been a zombie outbreak on YouTube, and some of your favorite channels have been attacked. Well, at least it looked that way as the undead took over YouTube Space LA.
For those unfamiliar with YouTube Space LA, it’s a “41,000-square foot digital video production and post-production facility and community event space in Los Angeles. Part modern production facility, part collaboration and gathering place, YouTube Space LA was established to meet the needs of digital storytellers; a place where YouTube creators are given the time, resources, space and inspiration to evolve and innovate how they tell stories on YouTube, at no charge by YouTube.” At least that’s according to the A in their FAQ!
Anyhow, it seems YouTube Space LA recently had Zombie Day during their first ever Scream Lab, a month-long program offered by YouTube’s Next Lab experts to give channel creators a chance to make scary videos for Halloween. Over 20 channels participated and were transformed into zombies by the Stan Winston School. Take a look at a few of the great videos that came out of Zombie Day below. They feature work by the Third String Kicker, Murderbot and The Space channels. There’s also a Halloween special short film featuring upcoming YouTube star Olga Kay entitled My Better Half.
