We still don’t have a firm premiere date for the second season of “Bates Motel” other than sometime in 2014, but we do have word about a familiar location that will be rearing its ugly head next year!
Per TV Guide, in its second season A&E’s “Bates Motel” will introduce the infamous fruit cellar where Mother’s stuffed body was revealed at the conclusion of Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho. “There are many creepy things down there,” says Freddie Highmore, whose Norman will turn the basement into his private taxidermy studio.
“It makes Norma utterly uncomfortable, as most mothers would be,” adds Vera Farmiga, who stars as the aforementioned “Mother,” aka Norma Bates.
As an additional teaser, the Guide reveals that in the season premiere Norman will be working on a project significantly larger than the little dog he stuffed last season. “It’s not human,” executive producer Carlton Cuse reassures us. “Not yet. We’re taking baby steps.”
Highmore and Farmiga will be joined in Season 2 by newcomers Kathleen Robertson, Rebecca Creskoff, Kenny Johnson, Paloma Kwiatkowski, and Michael Vartan.
