From the Press Release
Celebrate the ramp up to Halloween and beyond with prolific production outfit Glass Eye Pix (Birth of the Living Dead, Stake Land, The House of the Devil, I Sell the Dead, The Last Winter) as we stream a series of carefully curated double bills straight from the Tales From Beyond the Pale archives of spooky audio dramas.

We begin with two sci-fi tales from scribe Jeff Buhler (Midnight Meat Train, Jacob’s Ladder reboot). Stranger, from Season 2, was recorded live before an audience on October 9, 2012. Featuring John Speredakos (Wendigo, I Sell the Dead) and Kate Lyn Sheil (You’re Next), it tells the tale of four friends who escape the city to view a spectacular meteor shower high in a remote mountain range. Their encounter with a stranger who walks out of the woods changes their lives forever. Second on the double bill is This Oracle Moon from Season 1, a studio production first presented November 16, 2010, featuring Ron Perlman and Doug Jones, together for the first time since the Hellboy movies. A rescue team of astronauts is dispatched to a distant moon in hopes of reclaiming survivors from an ill-fated exploratory mission sent six years prior. When no survivors are found, the rescuers turn their attention to the elusive creatures inhabiting the nearby hills for answers.

Stay tuned for a different double bill each Tuesday and explore the diverse world of Tales From Beyond the Pale. All 18 explosive tales are also available for download in the online store (and are now available for purchase on Audible, iTunes and Amazon). Best of all, the beautiful collector’s 5 CD box set, designed by Gary Pullin, is available for purchase for the avid collector.

Produced and curated by Glenn McQuaid and Larry Fessenden of Glass Eye Pix, and hosted by Fessenden, each 30-minute episode from the Tales canon is written and directed by one of today’s horror auteurs including Joe Maggio (Bitter Feast), Clay McLeod Chapman (Henley), Jeff Buhler (The Midnight Meat Train), Ashley Thorpe (The Hairy Hands), Kim Newman (Anno Dracula), Glenn McQuaid (I Sell the Dead), Simon Barrett (You’re Next), and Larry Fessenden (Beneath), as well as Paul Solet (Grace), Simon Rumley (Red White and Blue), JT Petty (Hellbenders), Graham Reznick (I Can See You), and Sarah Langan (The Keeper).

Conceived during a fog-drenched car ride by Fessenden and McQuaid (I Sell the Dead, V/H/S), Tales From Beyond the Pale continues the mission at Glass Eye Pix to celebrate and elevate individual voices in the arts and to bring the vast palette of moods that comprises the horror story to fans everywhere.

New Gremlins a Reboot, Prequel, or Sequel?

Published

on

What’s the deal with Gremlins 3? Recently the original film’s director Joe Dante told us that the film will be a prequel and today we have news that it will be a complete reboot.

What gives? Well, Metro USA spoke to Columbus recently and the man dropped some interesting info on the (possible) upcoming Gremlins film.

Gremlins we are actively talking about that. So that’s what I am working on with my production company 1492 Pictures.”

He then adds: “It will almost definitely be a reboot.”

I’m thinking Chris Columbus knows what he’s talking about considering he’s not only producing this new movie but he was also the screenwriter on the 1984 classic. Who do you believe? Does it even matter? Reboot, prequel, or sequel, I know I’ll be there opening night.

What about you? Do you care what studios call the film as long as it has Gizmo in it? Make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

Synopsis:

A gadget salesman is looking for a special gift for his son and finds one at a store in Chinatown. The shopkeeper is reluctant to sell him the “mogwai” but sells it to him with the warning to never expose him to bright light, water, or to feed him after midnight. All of this happens and the result is a gang of gremlins that decide to tear up the town on Christmas Eve.

Ash vs Evil Dead Has Been Cancelled; Bruce Campbell Tweets Emotional Message

Published

on

It’s looking like lackluster ratings have nailed the final coffin in STARZ’ “Ash vs Evil Dead” as the series has been cancelled. Taking to Twitter, Bruce Campbell gave an emotional message that pays respect not just to the series but also to the history of the Evil Dead franchise itself.

Ash Vs Evil Dead has been the ride of a lifetime. Ash Williams was the role of a lifetime. I will always be grateful to Starz, Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and our tireless fans for the opportunity to revisit the franchise that launched our careers. Thank you!” Williams wrote, attaching an image of himself as Ash with the message, “Ash has left the building.

Starring Campbell alongside Ray Santiago, Dan DeLorenzo, and Lucy Lawless, “Ash vs Evil Dead” followed the exploits of Ash Williams as he fought the Deadite hordes decades after his original encounters. Crass, violent, over-the-top, and an absolute blast, it’s a damn shame that the series is coming to an end, especially now that we’ve met Ash’s daughter, Brandy, and a fourth season may very well have allowed Raimi and Co. to pass the torch along to a new generation.
