Read on for everything you need to know about Mourning Has Broken!

From the Press Release
Indiecan Entertainment has acquired the Canadian distribution rights to the Butler Brothers’ feature length film MOURNING HAS BROKEN.

Mourning Has Broken explores the thin line between tragedy and comedy, love and hate, life and death. When a husband wakes to find that his wife has unexpectedly died during the night, he bottles up his grief and takes an emotional battle-axe to everything in the world that angers him. Unable to cope with his devastation, he sets out to complete the final “to-do” list his wife left him – with hilarious, drastic consequences. During his errands, a series of mundane annoyances and pet peeves that confront him end up becoming part of his wild call‐to-action. Robert Nolan plays the bereft husband who has nothing left to lose in this dark comedy.

“Avi Federgreen is an inspiration for Canadian filmmakers. Upon meeting him, we knew he spoke our language and was passionate and dedicated to getting Canadian independent film in front of a wider audience. We are very excited to be working together with him on this project,” says producer Brett Butler.

As the Butler Brothers’ most challenging feature film to date, Mourning Has Broken was created as part of the inaugural 1K Challenge by Canadian independent film queen Ingrid Veninger, which produced five Canadian features for just $1,000 per film. Can’t be done? Mourning Has Broken is proof that great Canadian stories can be told at any price.

“I am delighted that Indiecan gets to work with the Butler Brothers on the release of MOURNING HAS BROKEN. Like I always say to filmmakers across the country, “NO IS NOT AN OPTION”, and after seeing what these guys did with what little they had, I knew immediately we were meant to work together! I hope this is just the beginning of a great filmmaking collaboration,” said Indiecan Entertainment’s Avi Federgreen.

Mourning Has Broken premiered at the Calgary International Film Festival and will be seen in theatres across Canada in winter 2013.
