Mondo Honors Tales From the Crypt with Gallery ShowI don’t always wish I lived in Texas. But when I do, it’s because Mondo is running an art exhibit in their gallery that I just cannot miss. And this is one of those can’t miss events.

Next month, Mondo kicks off a very special Halloween themed show in honor of Tales From the Crypt, some of the best artists in the world using their skills to resurrect the Crypt Keeper.

From the Press Release
Mondo will celebrate EC Comics & Tales From The Crypt this Halloween with a gallery show that will run from October 25 through November 23. Thirty-plus artists will honor one of the greatest horror television shows of all time and its origins in EC Comics, which produced some of the most original and striking horror artwork, inspiring a generation of artists and genre fans. The gallery show will feature original works of art and blood-drenched screen prints.

The gallery opening on Friday, October 25 will be from 7:00 – 10:00pm with regular hours to follow for the show’s duration. The Mondo Gallery is located at 4115 Guadalupe St. in Austin, TX.

“I care about EC Comics very much. Even though I wasn’t around when it was originally published, the HBO Tales From The Crypt was an amazing intro into a demented world of darkly comedic horror stories and vivid artwork. EC Comics’ editor Bill Gaines is one of my heroes and it’s so incredibly exciting to combine his creations with thirty something artists that are also fans of that era,” said Mondo CEO Justin Ishmael.
