World Premiere of Malignant to Kick Off 2013 Shriekfest Film FestivalWe’re just a week and a half away from the start of the 13th Annual Shriekfest Film Festival, where over 40 films both long and short will be screened to the public. The fun begins with the world premiere of a new film called Malignant, and you’ll find all the details about it below!

The Los Angeles International Horror/Sci-Fi Film Festival is proud to announce that the World Premiere of the new film MALIGNANT will be the opening night feature for this year’s festival on Friday, October 4, 2013.

The thrilling film mixes grief, addiction, and horror stars Gary Cairns (The Jinn), the amazing Brad Dourif (Halloween, Lord of the Rings), and Nick Nicotera (Vampire Apocalypse).

The fourth feature film by new generation director Brian Avenet-Bradley, MALIGNANT is the story of a grieving man who becomes the victim of a horrific experiment to cure his addiction.

In addition to MALIGNANT, Shriekfest will screen nine other features, including Gary Schultz’s DEVIL IN MY RIDE, the terrifying ABDUCTED, the exploration of extreme horror AN AMERICAN TERROR, the new UK hit JUDAS GHOST, the excellent and tense HAZMAT, the disturbing FOUND, and the thriller THE LAST LIGHT.

In addition to the 10 features, 34 outstanding and diverse international SHORTS from 7 countries will also screen. Horror, comedies, suspense, science-fiction, ghosts, experimental, vampires, maniacs, and even a Sasquatch!

The Shriekfest Film Festival runs October 3-6, 2013. Opening night party will be at Boardners/Club B52; the rest of the festival will be at the iconic Raleigh Studios.
