We told you back in May that an American remake of Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance was on its way, and the project finally has a director in Hany Abu-Assad (Paradise Now). Read on for details.
According to The Wrap, Abu-Assad will direct the English-language remake of the Park Chan-Wook film that kicked off the South Korean filmmaker’s Vengeance Trilogy. The script is written by Broken City scribe Brian Tucker.
The film centers on two men who are bound by their common sense of loss and headed on a collision course of revenge. The other installments in that trilogy are Oldboy (also being remade) and Lady Vengeance.
