From the Press Release
A twisted tale of an organic fertilizer business that experiences increased sales when its owners stumble across a meat grinder-friendly “secret ingredient” that really helps their fertilizer to fertilize, the acclaimed comedy-horror cult favorite 100 BLOODY ACRES marks feature debut of Australian filmmaking brothers Colin and Cameron Cairnes. Starring Damon Herriman (TV’s Justified, House of Wax) and Angus Sampson (Insidious, Where The Wild Things Are), 100 BLOODY ACRES weaves its inspired insanity around two brothers, Reg (Herriman) and Lindsay (Sampson), who are struggling to keep their organic blood and bone fertilizer business alive. Though their secret “recipe” for success—using dead car crash victims in their product—has been a huge boon to business, their supply has been gravely low in recent days. It’s only when Reg stumbles upon three stranded travelers that he concocts a splatteringly gruesome solution to the problem involving the use of even fresher ingredients! But when Reg finds himself falling for the lovely Sophie (Anna McGahan), one of his intended victims, things get trickier—and gorier—for both his bossy brother and himself!
Doppelgänger Releasing will present 100 BLOODY ACRES on Blu-ray, DVD and on digital streaming platforms for the first time on October 1, 2013 following its theatrical release and day/date VOD premiere. The Blu-ray and DVD discs will include a host of bonus features and carry the suggested retail prices of $24.95 and $19.95, respectively.
Boasting an outstanding 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and enough giggles and gore to fertilize the entire Australian Outback, 100 BLOODY ACRES provides the perfect ingredients for a diabolically delicious recipe of horror and comedy!
Reg and Lindsay Morgan are two brothers who are struggling to keep their organic blood and bone fertilizer business in motion. Months have passed since their last find, and an important new customer is now waiting on a delivery. When junior partner Reg (Damon Herriman) stumbles upon three travelers stranded on a remote country road, he cooks up a splatteringly radical solution to their problem…and a way of finally gaining the respect of his bossy big brother Lindsay (Angus Sampson). But when Reg starts to fall for the lovely Sophie (Anna McGahan), who also happens to be one of their intended victims, things begin to get complicated…
