    Looks like wank.

  • addeisdead

I just read about JJ Abram’s new series, which is about a cop who is nearly killed in a violent attack and wakes up from a coma to find he has a cybernetic leg and an android for a partner. So if it’s not remakes we’re getting, it’s always something pretty familiar.

  • NeoKefka

Remaking Robocop is pretty goddman pointless. Releasing a watered down, PG-13 version of it not long after we got a hard R Judge Dredd movie makes it doubly so.

    • frank_dracman

I always say Dredd is the best Robocop sequel. Allow me to be optimistic for a minute. If this gets at least 5 kids interested in the original who otherwise wouldn’t be, maybe it’s not entirely pointless? It’s Total Recall all over again. No one will give a shit about it in two years, but the original will always be there to watch.

  • MonsterMash

    So bad. What a joke.

  • LSD Zombie

Even though they dumped a lot of cash into this project, it still looks like a step above an Asylum mock buster. The suit looks like shit and ED-209 looks like something out of Metal Gear. What a joke.

I must say that’s also the cleanest and nicest looking representation of Detroit that I’ve seen on film.

  • LifeMi

What pisses me off about this Robocop trailer is that he STARTS off in the classic Robocop suit and then they make it black. WOW; talk about a total lack of disrespect for the original. That’d be like giving Michael Myers the classic Shatner mask initially, then dirtying it up and…oh wait…

    • frank_dracman

The “make it black” line reminded me of the new Devil May Cry game. It’s like they were intentionally trying to piss off fans.

      • LifeMi

Good point frank, but you know what it reminded me of? Batman Begins. Heck, they even had Michael Keaton say the make it black line, not to mention Gary Oldman is in the movie.

  • Rottenjesus

    FUCK REMAKES!

Play ROBOCOP vs TERMINATOR on the Sega Genesis instead! You’ll thank me later.

  • Chernobyl Kinsman

Looks like some fucking guy in a shitty suit running about the place. I’d rather watch Robocop 3 again than this.

  • DavidFullam

Well the suit does look better in motion than it does flat. Hope the film proves the same.

  • Matt Serafini

    Awful, awful shit.

  • frank_dracman

It honestly doesn’t look as bad as I’d feared, but man did I fear the worst. From the trailer it looks like it will be more of a drama with a little Robocop action in it. Gotta say he looks goofy without the helmet, like a guy in a costume. It has a really disjointed look to it, too clean, if you know what I mean. If that’s what they were going for it didn’t work for me. The ED-209 looked pretty rad though.
