We generally shy away from reporting on Kickstarters, but I’m willing to make an exception in the case of Spidora because it’s a short film with a premise that sounds so bizarre I kind of want to see it.
Fred Olen Ray’s Spidora tells the strange tale of a young drifter who comes to the aid of a lonely freak show “Lobster Girl” who is convinced that the “Spider Girl” is trying to kill her.
Synopsis:
Spidora is a dark journey inside the world of Dr. Graves’ Palace of Illusions, a Museum of Human Oddities where mysterious creatures like Electra, Spidora, and Mora, the Lobster Girl, command the stage. It is a world trapped between light and shadow where anything can happen… and does.
Spider and Lobster Girl have yet to be cast, but Jerry Lacy of the original “Dark Shadows” is on board to play a doctor.
