A new horror convention is set to kick off November 1st in Hot-lanta featuring stars from such fan favorites as “The Walking Dead” and “Holliston” as well as genre staples Kane Hodder, Danielle Harris, and more.
From the Press Release:
Walker Stalker Con, a zombie, horror, and sci-fi themed fan-centric convention, will be held at America’s Mart connected to the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel November 1-3, 2013. Fan access to celebrity guests will be the primary focus of the inaugural event.
With more cast members from “The Walking Dead” assembled than at any other convention, Walker Stalker Con positions itself to be particularly unique. Watch out for zombies invading Atlanta Halloween weekend!
It all began when The Walker Stalkers podcast with James and Eric reached #2 on iTunes for all entertainment podcasts. The podcast continues to be popular for connecting the fans to the celebrities and actors of the TV series “The Walking Dead.”
“We hope to continue this same kind of access and involvement with our first ever convention,” say James Frazier and Eric Nordhoff, hosts of the podcast. “We want fans of TV shows, films, and comics in this genre to have a chance to have real interaction with their favorite celebrities – not just a 10-second handshake and photo opp.”
The guest of honor is “The Walking Dead” co-executive producer/special makeup effects artist/director Greg Nicotero. Actors attending are from “The Walking Dead” (Norman Reedus, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Sonequa Martin-Green, Chandler Riggs, Lauren Cohan, Melissa McBride, IronE Singleton, Vincent M. Ward, Lew Temple, and others), “Holliston” (Adam Green, Joe Lynch, Corri English, Laura Ortiz), Halloween (Danielle Harris), Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (Kane Hodder), Night of the Living Dead (Judith O’Dea), Dawn of the Dead (Mike Christopher), Land of the Dead (Eugene Clark), and many more.
Walker Stalker Con kicks off on Friday, November 1, at 12:00 noon. The exhibit floor will be open all three days, featuring games, toys, comics, and other memorabilia for true fans of zombies, horror, and science fiction. Friday night there will be a special Fan Meet and Greet for all VIP ticket holders.
On Saturday there will be a VIP Meet and Greet with celebrities, a concert with Emily Kinney (Beth on “The Walking Dead”), plus a “Zombie Costume Bash Party” – a night of dressing up, contests, and meeting/mingling with the celebrity guests! (Must be 18 or older to attend the Zombie Costume Bash.)
All events, except for the Saturday Night Zombie Costume Bash party, are family-friendly. Tickets for the event start as low as $30 for general admission. Children age 10 and under do not require a ticket with a paid adult. (Children will receive a General Admission ticket only and are not eligible for a free VIP ticket. A VIP ticket may be purchased for children separately.)
In addition, Atlanta Movie Tours will also be departing from the hotel, providing fans with a local tour of movie and TV filming locations in the area.
