LA Readers: Celebrate Jason’s Favorite Day With the Friday the 13th Marathon!

We’re a week and a half away from the first of two Friday the 13ths this year, and our friends over at Bloody Disgusting are making the day really special for those of you who live in Los Angeles. So listen up!
On Friday, September 13th, at Santa Monica’s Aero Theater, they’re co-presenting a mini-marathon of the first four films in the franchise, taking fans on a big screen journey from Jason’s watery birth straight through to his first of three battles with Tommy Jarvis. In addition to the films, the event will also feature a costume contest, which has big time cash prizes at stake. Fans are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite characters from the franchise, with the grand prize winner taking home $500 for their creativity and efforts.
Trivia and scream contests will also be held, with meals and a whopping 13 copies of Warner Bros. upcoming Friday the 13th: Complete Collection Blu-ray set being awarded to those who know their stuff and can belt out a scream loud enough to wake the dead.
The contests begin at 5pm and the marathon kicks off at 7:30. Tickets are just $13 each, and you can grab yours through Fandango.
Evan from Bloody Disgusting is giving away 10 pairs of tickets to the event, so if you want to test your luck with that, drop him an e-mail at evan@bloody-disgusting.com and list off your ranking of all 12 of the films that Jason has appeared in.
