As a result of the Legendary Pictures / Universal deal, Dracula, starring Luke Evans, has gotten itself a new release date. Originally set for August 8, 2014, the flick will now be flying into theatres on October 3, 2014.
Evans stars in the story of the man who became Dracula. Gary Shore is directing, and Michael De Luca is producing. Delaying the release of the film makes sense with Legendary coming aboard, as it might need more time to put its stamp on the movie.
Legendary is combing over Universal’s slate for a number of projects it will help fund under its new five-year co-financing and distribution pact with the studio and, as we told you yesterday, is also considering co-funding the fourth installment of Universal’s planned reboot of the Jurassic Park franchise, which, like Dracula, is an offering that would fit well with Legendary’s fan oriented DNA.
