Universal Studios Sinks Its Teeth Into Vampire Comic Day Men

With the box office success of Universal’s 2 Guns earlier this month, an adaptation of a comic series from Boom! Studios, it was only natural that Universal would once again want to team up with the comic publisher and try to recapture that magic.
Deadline reports that Universal has optioned the rights to Boom!’s comic series Day Men, which only hit shelves last month. Created by Matt Gagnon, Day Men follows a secret order of humans charged with protecting vampires as they sleep during the day. When a war breaks out between two rival vampire families, one of the titular Day Men must intervene.
The seven-figure deal could eventually lead to Day Men becoming a movie franchise for Universal, though it of course all depends on how the first film performs at the box office.
