Shannyn Sossamon Marries into Wayward Pines

The one thing M. Night Shyamalan does right with his projects is that he populates his world with pretty damned good actors. Of course his end results leave a lot to be desired, but hey, you can’t have everything, right?

Deadline reports that actress Shannyn Sossamon (pictured; The Day, “Mistresses”) is set to co-star opposite Matt Dillon in the Fox event series “Wayward Pines” from M. Night Shyamalan. She’ll be playing Theresa Burke, the wife of Dillon’s character.

Terrence Howard, Carla Gugino, Toby Jones, and Melissa Leo co-star.

Based on the best-selling novel Pines by Blake Crouch, “Wayward Pines” is an intense, mind-bending thriller evocative of the classic cult hit “Twin Peaks.” “Wayward Pines” is set to debut in 2014.

Synopsis
Ethan Burke (Dillon) is a Secret Service agent who arrives in the bucolic town of Wayward Pines, Idaho, on a mission to find two missing federal agents. But instead of answers, Ethan’s investigation only turns up more questions. Each step closer to the truth takes Ethan further from the life he knew, from the husband and father he was, until he must face the terrifying reality that he may never get out of Wayward Pines alive.
