Legion Headed to the TV ScreenBack in February of 2012 there were rumblings that Syfy was developing a new series based on the film Legion, and now the project has a title and a green light. Read on for what we know about it so far.

From the Press Release:
The future of humanity hangs in the balance as the ultimate celestial battle descends to Earth in Syfy’s compelling new series “Dominion,” which has been greenlit to pilot by Syfy. Universal Cable Productions and Bold Films are producing.

Based on characters from the hit theatrical film Legion (2010), “Dominion” is an epic supernatural action drama set 25 years in the future after a war between an army of angels and mankind has transformed the world. The series follows the perilous journey of a rebellious young soldier who discovers he’s the unlikely savior of humanity.

Scott Stewart (pictured above), who co-wrote and directed Legion, is back to direct the pilot, and is one of the project’s executive producers. Michel Litvak and David Lancaster of Bold Films are also executive producers. Vaun Wilmott, who is also writing the Syfy miniseries development project “Ringworld,” is writer and co-executive producer.

Stewart had pretty good success on the small screen already recently, having directed the two-part pilot for “Defiance,” so we have high hopes for this one as well. There’s no casting news as of yet, but we’ll keep our eyes and ears open.
