New Elysium Poster Arrives to Save Us All

Post Thumb:

New Elysium Poster Arrives to Save Us AllYet another one-sheet for Neill Blomkamp’s latest film Elysium has arrived and according to it Matt Damon is the savior of the human race. I’m sure Jimmy Kimmel would beg to differ.

Directed by Neill Blomkamp, Elysium stars Sharlto Copley, Jodie Foster, Matt Damon, Wagner Moura, William Fichtner, Alice Braga, and Diego Luna. Look for it in theaters August 9, 2013.

Visit the official Elysium website here!

In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. The people of Earth are desperate to escape the planet’s crime and poverty, and they critically need the state-of-the-art medical care available on Elysium – but some in Elysium will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve their citizens’ luxurious lifestyle. The only man with the chance bring equality to these worlds is Max (Matt Damon), an ordinary guy in desperate need to get to Elysium. With his life hanging in the balance, he reluctantly takes on a dangerous mission – one that pits him against Elysium’s Secretary Delacourt (Jodie Foster) and her hard-line forces – but if he succeeds, he could save not only his own life, but millions of people on Earth as well.

Blomkamp is the only reason I’m going to see this. The trailer is vanilla as hell, but I have faith he’ll do something unique with the premise.

I agree. There’s nothing in the advertising that excites me. But I also predict that after seeing it I’ll think it’s the best movie I’ve seen all summer. It has that sort of feel, no big expectations and somewhat under the radar. My guess is it’s probably very intelligent and challenging-stuff that doesn’t play to a trailer or commercial.

This looks EPIC Blomkamp is genius next please bring us District 10!!!

Did you see same trailer I did ?to me not Vanilla at all looks chock full of awesomeness!!!

I saw the Damonborg trailer and it looked like every other summer Sci-Fi flick. Got ‘The Island’ vibe from it. Foster was the big baddie and the poor, helpless souls below are looking for a savior. I’m purposely keeping away from any and all promotional material so keep in mind my judgement is on one single trailer.
