Rest in Peace - Dennis FarinaAnother great actor has been taken from us altogether too soon as Dennis Farina died Monday morning in a Scottsdale, Arizona, hospital after suffering a blood clot in his lung, according to his publicist, Lori De Waal. He was 69.

Though Dennis only dabbled within our genre a couple of times, once in 1992 in an episode of HBO’s “Tales from the Crypt” entitled “Werewolf Concerto,” the one-time real life Chicago cop will mainly be remembered as Agent Jack Crawford in 1986’s Manhunter which was the world’s first cinematic experience with the dreaded Hannibal Lecter. Over the years the role has also been played by Harvey Keitel, Scott Glenn, and currently by Laurence Fishburne on NBC’s “Hannibal,” but Farina’s portrayal could very well be the most memorable.

We here at Dread Central would like to take this time to offer Dennis’ many friends, family members, and constituents our sincerest of condolences. Godspeed good sir.
