#SDCC 2013: MUST WATCH PANEL - The World's EndIf there’s one panel you watch today, if only for sheer entertainment value, make it this one for The World’s End. Really drink in every second and be ready to laugh your ass off! Then drink some more.

The World’s End is directed by Edgar Wright and stars Simon Pegg along with long time buddy Nick Frost, Rosamund Pike, Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine, and Eddie Marsan.

Look for the flick in theatres on August 23rd.

Synopsis
20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.

I don’t get the dislike this movie is getting. I found it wasn’t as great as Shaun of the dead or Hot Fuzz, but with the amount of crap we’ve seen this year, I’d say it’s among the best! I rate it the same as This Is The End… it’s just a bit more British.

Oh, it’s a good enough movie, but its not very funny very often, certainly not with the same frequency as This is the End or their other films. Even Paul had more laughs imo. Heck that panel was funnier.

I couldn’t disagree more. I found the humour to be faster than in This Is The End and almost as funny. Don’t get me wrong, I love both films equally, but this had more witty, speedy-paced jokes, while This Is The End had less, but more stretched out jokes. Either way, placing Paul on a higher level than The World’s End was your main preposterous statement… unless you’re someone who prefers Zombieland over Shaun of the Dead?

No, I didn’t think Zombieland was particularly funny at all. I just wasn’t laughing very often in Worlds End, I mean the funniest parts were all the understated bits, like Nick Frost breaking the glass. Other than that it was mostly the main character being an unlikable twat with varying degrees of amusement.

To each their own. If it had one thing that’s for certain better than This Is The End, it’s a more original and intriguing storyline.

Just saw this today.. its kinda not that great. I mean, its a decent enough film, but its not very funny very often and nowhere near the same level as Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz, or Spaced or pretty much anything the guys have ever done. Really quite disappointed by it.
