Paranormal Activity 5 Moves to 2014?It’s official: Paranormal Activity 5 won’t be making its scheduled release date of October 25th, leaving fans waiting a few extra months to get a dose of cult mayhem and Kinect scares.

Paramount has pushed the release of Paranormal Activity 5, the latest installment in its lucrative horror franchise, to next year, slating the sequel for January 3rd, 2014.

There’s still a lot of questions up in the air, with speculation that Paramount could be turning the supposed Latino Paranormal Activity spinoff into an actual sequel. Other chatter suggests that the producers are close to hiring a director for an actual PA5, but that no deal is set as of yet.

They really like the director, but they are second guessing themselves,” one individual close to the studio told the online outlet The Wrap in yesterday’s story.

Given the lackluster reception to the fourth film, and rightly so, we’re really hoping that the powers-that-be do their best to get things back on track for the next go-around with the things that go bump in the night.

  1. Really wish this series would die already. Give us something else for our annual Halloween movies. Hell, I’d welcome Saw over this garbage.

    • 2008: God I hate Saw. They’re not even horror movies!
2010: The last Saw movie! Thank god!
2012: God I wish the Saw movies were back.

Seriously, make up your minds fanboys.

      • Fanboys? You’re barking up the wrong tree there, bud. You’re right, the Saw movies suck. I think I’ve enjoyed one or two of them. I have enjoyed zero PA movies. As bad as Saw is, PA is worse. I’d rather have the lesser of 2 evils, simple as that. Clever comment, but you assumed too much. Hope I cleared things up for you.

        • Yeah still more fanboy nonsense to me. When the PA movies are gone and something gory takes its place it’ll be “The PA movies were boring, but at least they were horror movies. I want that again.” Eck.

          • This “fanboy” argument is really getting old. You can’t voice your opinion on anything without at least one person pointing and yelling fanboy. I thought we were beyond that by now. Shit man, you’ve been around forever and must be an adult, right? Why call someone else’s comment nonsense? Are you just seeking the attention of the community? I would try to explain my comment so you could understand, but at this point you’ll take anything I say and troll it. No one’s mad at you, just disappointed.

          • Oh come on we can disagree without getting personal. I didn’t mean to get over zealous. I was just frustrated. It’s not you mainly it’s the other comments online I see. To each their own, I always say, let’s just agree to disagree.

          • OK, that’s it. Come on man, we’re gonna hug it out. Yeah…..that’s good. Just let go of some of that hate. No, not all of it, it’s why we like you. Oh, you’re squeezing too tight…oh god….HELP! Terminal’s trying to kill me!

  2. Really? considering how cheap these movies are (though surprisingly more expensive than they should be) PA5 has to do Oogieloves numbers not to be profitable by the end of it’s first weekend. just toss out some mismash of a trailer and a poster….and people will come screaming for it.
