If you’re a fan of Zombi U and were hoping for a sequel, I’ve got a bit of bad news. According to an interview with Games Industry, Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot said that because it failed (and then some) to make a profit, NO WAY there’s a sequel.
Critics and fans alike have split down the middle on this Wii U exclusive survival horror game with a 77 score on MetaCritic (which basically means “Caveat emptor, mo’facka“). Combine that with dismal sales, and you’ve got quite a few things to consider.
In this case, it was “Let’s dump that ‘exclusivity’ and make Rayman Legends multi-platform.”
Guillemot said, “We must find a way to ensure the creativity of those games could have a big enough audience. We hope (the Wii U) will take off. At the moment we’ve said, ‘Let’s do through Christmas and see where we are from there.’”
It’s too bad, really; Zombi U was a decent game, but something in my head said this was gonna happen.
Rest in Peace, man.
