First Official Oldboy Poster Makes its EscapeThe first official one-sheet is here for the Spike Lee-directed remake of Park Chan-wook’s Korean classic Oldboy, and it’s… well… you’ll see. In any event it’s better than floating heads, right? Look for it in theatres on October 25th.

Starring Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, and Sharlto Copley, Oldboy was directed by Spike Lee from a script by Mark Protosevich (I Am Legend, The Cell, Thor). The film was produced by Roy Lee, Doug Davison, and Nathan Kahane.

Synopsis
Oldboy is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.

  1. Spike Lee? Really? Script written by the same person who wrote the I am Legend script? Why would you put that as a selling point? That movie was complete shit and no more I am Legend than The Smurf movie. This movie is doomed right from the beginning. 1. Theres no reason for a remake 2. Spike Lee directing a remake of a classic revenge thriller, not possible. His movies are always slanted and lately he’s shown himself to be not so stable. 3. Josh Brolin looks like Neo, come on man.

Leave good movies alone! Everything does not need to be remade.
