HBO and Alan Ball Close Deal for True Blood Season 5

True BloodRelax, fangbangers; HBO has closed a deal for "True Blood" Season 5 with showrunner Alan Ball, who says he and the show's writers are already breaking stories for next year.

Deadline reports that during today's Television Critics Association "True Blood" panel, Ball, the series' creator/executive producer, disclosed the fact that he has re-signed in response to a request to address speculation that Season 4 could be his last. "I have no desire to leave," he said. "Doing the show is more fun than anything else I've ever done."

As far as those upcoming storylines, one of them is to "see how one of the vampires was made."

Despite the fact we're not quite as enamored with the show now as we were when it first began, we still see this as good news. The more genre shows on TV, the better for all of us!
