San Diego Comic-Con 2013: Summit Announces a Panel and Signing for DivergentDivergent is a film we’re looking forward to primarily because of the great cast that’s been assembled for it. If you feel the same, and are attending the 2013 SDCC, read on for the details of what Summit has planned for the event.

Summit Entertainment will showcase the film adaption of the #1 New York Times best-selling novel Divergent at Comic-Con 2013 as follows:

Hall H Panel: The studio’s panel on Thursday, July 18th, will feature the first footage ever seen of the futuristic thriller and a Q&A with Divergent‘s filmmakers and cast, including novelist Veronica Roth, director Neil Burger, and cast members Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Miles Teller, Maggie Q, Ansel Elgort, Mekhi Phifer, Ben Lamb, Ben Lloyd-Hughes, and Christian Madsen.

Convention Floor Booth: Summit Entertainment’s booth located within the Grand Hall will highlight Divergent. Exclusive premium promotional items will be distributed to the attendees walking the convention floor, and cast members will sign autographs for booth visitors.

Summit Entertainment’s highly anticipated feature film adaptation of Divergent stars Golden Globe nominated Shailene Woodley, Theo James, and Academy Award winner Kate Winslet. The film also features Ray Stevenson, Maggie Q, Mekhi Phifer, Jai Courtney, Miles Teller, Zoë Kravitz, Ansel Elgort, Ben Lloyd-Hughes, Tony Goldwyn, Ben Lamb, Christian Madsen, and Amy Newbold. The futuristic action adventure based on author Veronica Roth’s trilogy of novels is directed by Neil Burger from a script by Vanessa Taylor. The original draft of the script was written by Evan Daugherty.

Divergent is a thrilling adventure set in a future world where people are divided into distinct factions based on their personalities. Tris Prior (Woodley) is warned she is Divergent and will never fit into any one group. When she discovers a conspiracy to destroy all Divergents, she must find out what makes being Divergent so dangerous before it’s too late.

Summit will release the film theatrically in North America on Friday, March 21, 2014.
