San Diego Comic-Con 2011: The Vampire Diaries - Comic-Con First Look

We'll admit it. "The Vampire Diaries" is not the chick show that we all thought it would be. Take a chance on it and you may just dig it. In any event Season 3 is approaching fast and we've got your very first look!

Check out the sneak peek of the new season of The Vampire Diaries, first seen at Comic-Con. Don't miss the season premiere, Thursday September 15th.

According to executive producer Julie Plec "Our first episode is Elena's 18th birthday. There will be a small time jump [from where last season ended] as we celebrate Elena's birthday, but as is the pattern in Mystic Falls, the event never reaches its climax." Elena will now be a senior in high school, but don't bank on a season-ending graduation. Now that she's 18, "Elena and Jeremy technically don't need a parent living in their house [following Aunt Jenna's death]," says Plec. "She will be taking care of herself."

What's that mean? We'll find out soon enough!
