A Bigfoot War Is Coming to the Big ScreenIn news that’s bound to have our own Foywonder taking to the streets and blasting off a shotgun while screaming, “IT’S ARMAGEDDON,” word has come that the Eric S. Brown series of Bigfoot War books have been set up for big screen adaptation!

From the Press Release
Origin Releasing has acquired the motion picture rights to Bigfoot War, the literary series by author Eric S. Brown. The bestselling books are inspired by the legend of a monstrous “Bigfoot” type primate living in and around “Boggy Creek.”

Casting has begun, and production is slated to start in late July for this action-packed creature feature to be entitled Bigfoot Wars and produced by Edgen Films and D Zone, the production arm of Origin Releasing.

“It seems that interest in Cryptozoology and creatures such as the Bigfoot is timeless and evergreen. It never dies,” says Tony Perez, EVP Sales for Origin Releasing.

Praise for the series of books has been near universal, including but not limited to the following quotes:

“Bigfoot War is a crypto fan’s dream come true. You have Sasquatch, an invasion and all-out war all in one story. Eric S. Brown delivers!” – A.P. Fuchs, Coscom Entertainment publisher and author of Zombie Fight Night: Battles of the Dead

“Ever since reading Brown’s Bigfoot War, I’ve hoped somebody would turn it into a movie. Finally, the time is here! Humans beware. The Bigfoot War just got bloodier!” – Lyle Blackburn, author of The Beast of Boggy Creek: The True Story of the Fouke Monster

“Eric S. Brown did for Bigfoot what 28 Days Later did for zombies.” – Sean T. Page, Ministry of Zombies

“Brutal and visceral, what was once the joke of the Cryptozoological world is now back where it belongs: at the top of the monster food-chain.” – Scott A. Johnson, author of City of Demons and Deadlands

The film is scheduled for release in 2014.
