Action on Film FestivalThe Action on Film (AOF) International Film Festival is heading back to Pasadena, California, this July 22-30, and one of Dread Central’s favorite indie filmmakers, SenoReality’s Patrick Rea, will be participating in a big way.

About AOF: As one of the biggest and fastest growing opportunities for filmmakers, writers, producers, and fans of great independent and studio films, AOF strives to showcase the best of everything. In 2011, with over 600 screenings scheduled, there will be more parties, industry professionals, symposiums, awards, films, and celebrities than ever. This includes the launch of the brand new AOF Channel television series on NBC Late Night. along with a number of events, the festival will attract thousands of filmmakers, fans, and celebrities alike to Pasadena, California July 22-30, 2011.

This year will see the return of hundreds of AOF alum filmmakers and writers including Stan Harrington with his new film ‘Perception’, Moon Hill Productions with ‘Driving by Braille’ on Monday July 24, 2011, and Alexander T. Sharkey’s ‘Prohibition.’ ‘H-4’ (a new re-telling of Shakespeare’s classic tale starring Michael Dorn, Heavy D and Harry Lennix) screens on Friday July 22, 2011 at 8pm. Mark Sanders also returns with the world premiere of his new film ‘House of the Rising Sun’ starring Amy Smart, Danny Trejo and Dave Battista on Saturday July 23, 2011. We will also welcome hundreds of new AOF first time filmmakers and writers to our ranks. And we’ve got some big surprises in store with the Writers’ Production Series and the Writers’ Room, which features the work of nearly 50 AOF alumni and starring the legendary Morgan Sheppard and his acting group performing their work.

Look for an expanded symposium series, a special Women In Film event, and two new charity events this season. As we move forward with new distribution, showcase, and networking processes for the coming season, we want you all to know that when we say, “You may be independent, but with the AOF, you’re never alone…” We mean it. Filmmaker’s First!

Now, as for Patrick, here’s the skinny on what he’s up to at AOF:

Regional Emmy Award-winning production company SenoReality Pictures will screen three short horror/thrillers — “Now That You’re Dead,” “Get Off My Porch,” and “Time’s Up, Eve” — at the seventh annual Action on Film Festival.

“Now That You’re Dead” is a dark comedy about a cheating husband, his mistress, and a murderous wife. In the company’s short thriller “Get Off My Porch,” a man is terrorized by Girl Scouts selling ‘delicious’ cookies. The company’s third screening, “Time’s Up, Eve”, follows a woman as she is pursued through the city by shadowy figures that have claimed the souls of her friends and loved ones.

Writer, director, and producer Patrick Rea says, “I just want to entertain people.. I have leaned more toward horror because they were the kinds of films I wasn’t supposed to be watching as a child. Naturally, I watched them anyway.

Patrick Rea from SenoReality is a prolific filmmaker with a brilliant eye for storytelling and a true gift for cinematic excellence. We look forward to a long and lasting relationship with him and his work,” says festival creator Del Weston.
